For over 30 years this family owned and operated business has been servicing holidaymakers, contractors and locals. Mataranka Roadhouse was originally built by the current Director, Gavin Pocock’s parents, and commenced trading on 25 July 1987. In August 1997 the cabins were added to compliment the Roadhouse and Caravan Park. Twenty-six years on, on 29 July 2013, Gavin and his fiancée, Wendy Tralaggan, took over the business from his parents and immediately began renovating the property. In June 2020 the bakery was built due to the increased local demand for fresh baked goods. Gavin and Wendy are constantly focused on creating the ‘Best Roadhouse on the Stuart Highway’.
This family run business is complimented with a range of staff with various skill sets to ensure that the business provides excellent, fast paced service which compliments the large range of goods and services on offer.
Mataranka Roadhouse’s 14 cabins, equipped with TV and private bathroom, are a haven for many a weary business or holiday traveller. The roadhouse has a vast range of tourism information and products, along with fuel, auto accessories, a general and grocery store, dine in and takeaway food, and a Laundromat for guests.
Now after 7 years of hard work, dedication and bucket loads of passion, they have a BP Branded One Stop Shop which now also includes a Bakery which commenced in June 2020.
